At the age 23, Lorraine Ornelas was attending school in Northern California, to become a pastry chef. She loved baking and excelled, graduating in the top five of her class.

Soon after graduating Lorraine’s life dramatically changed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, taking her on a new path. She began educating herself on the importance organic whole foods have in creating healthy bodies. Frustrated with the M.A.D. and S.A.D. (Mexican-American and Standard American Diets), Lorraine embarked on a journey of learning health and nutrition, through experience and study.

Realizing that every ‘Body’ is different, with it’s own nutritional needs for optimal health, she has studied, eaten, and professionally prepared the many varied diets of food: raw food, vegan, vegetarian, omnivore and more.

Lorraine is passionate about showing others the connection between food and health. She is also dedicated to the reality that everyone has a right to healthy organic fresh food on a daily basis. Having used organics for 20 years, Lorraine was first to bring organic ingredients into a restaurant kitchen in the Desert area. In her own words...

“My dream has been to have an organic restaurant right here in the Desert. Keep it simple, stay focused... and customers wanting clean, healthy foods will come... Luscious Lorraine’s is the result of this passion.

I also believe a positive kitchen atmosphere is very important. Care and love goes into every dish we serve.

Someone once told me ~ the proof is in the pudding, or in this case, the sandwich!”

By opening her cafe: Luscious Lorraine’s Organic Juice & Food Bar, Lorraine has been able to provide the community with fresh organic whole foods, and something for everyone. Drawing from her varied experiences, her pastry and classical french training, Lorraine is known for her creativity, and ability to create delicious, nutrition packed foods.

For Lorraine there is nothing better than cooking (or un-cooking) from the heart, knowing the food is prepared by a caring and loving staff, bringing people together, one plate at a time.
